Got my bracelet!

Sure did! I went on a spontaneous trip to Macy's and low and behold it was there! I almost waited, but then just went ahead and bought it! Here it is!

I think it'll go great with my EARRINGS

I'm still waiting ever-so-patiently for my headband. It should be here pretty soon...

Rehearsal Dinner: Something Different

In the midst of all the wedding planning, I really hadn't put too much thought into the rehearsal dinner, where it would be, what we would eat, etc. I've been fairly preoccupied with the wedding, I just figured it would be at a local restaurant and that it would be pretty low key.
However, now I am very excited! Greg's mom and dad checked out a local Persian and Mediterranean restaurant and I think it will be AWESOME if everything works out.

Greg and I both love Mediterranean food and were wanting something a little different. Once this idea was mentioned, I was SOLD. They have a bunch of different types of food to choose from and.....

They have a belly dancer!!....although I don't know if she would be this HOT, but apparently she has swords...

And they have Hookah!
How fun and different would this be?! I 'm in LOVE with this idea!

Inspiration to Reality: FAIL: Part 2

If you remember from this post I was attempting to make a lovely arrangement for our guestbook table or favor table. However, my first attempt looked like this:

Big time FAIL! But after checking with the ladies on Weddingbee, I got a few more ideas and here is the update...

It's better, but not quite there. I am in the process of getting more stems and a new vase. This is an example of a project I should not have attempted, but at this point I'm going with it. More updates to come...

I don't really want to do a guestbook...

because I think it'll be a waste of money and get stashed in bookshelf to never be seen again. I love art and things to hang on the wall so I've been debating a few different ideas for the "guestbook"

***

In my many hours of scouring the web I ran across the Quaker Marriage Certificate. No, I'm not a Quaker, but I like this idea.

The "vows" are written on the certificate, along with the bride and groom names and the date. Then everyone who attends the wedding ceremony signs the bottom as witnesses. Of course I would need to update it a little to make it more modern-looking. I found this a while ago on the web also.

I just think this would be a very nice thing to get framed and hang in our home. I like this second one for its simplicity. I bet I could DIY this on the computer and get it printed at Kinkos and then paint-by-numbers the decorations, etc.

The second idea I found on Weddingbee

It's the new last name spelled out in pictures and then matted. Then your guests just sign all over the mat. I like the idea of the new last name and the photos.

Feather and Frills Etsy Shop

Alright, even though it was on my to-do list for May, I went ahead and ordered my hair piece. Isn't it so pretty? I'll have to wait almost 2 weeks for it to come in, but I think it'll be perfect! I'll post pics when it comes in.
I love Etsy!

Fine China? Or not?

Greg and I registered a few months back at Bed Bath & Beyond. The main thing I wanted was a new set of pots and pans. Well for Christmas that is what my dad got me! Yay! But, now I needed to update our registry.

I've been going back and forth on whether or not we NEED fine china. Of course we don't NEED fine china. It wasn't even a question at the beginning....until I saw these....by Kate Spade.

As you probably know I love black and white. And these are perfect and I LOVE them! But at $24 for 1 plate I just don't think they are necessary. I wish they weren't so expensive OR so lovely. Oh, and I would probably cry if I chipped one. The other great thing about Kate Spade's black and white collection is the mixing and matching.

Oh my gosh! How lovely is that little sugar bowl that I don't see us using and would be over 3 hours of work to pay for!

I'm thinking now about registering for some serving-ware and new plates, etc. I figure at some point we will probably have a holiday or two at our place and it would be nice to have something other than a crappy mug to put gravy in, etc. Plus, matching stuff isn't a terrible thing!

As I was perusing Macy's I found good ole' Martha Stewart! These are way cheaper! I'm not quite sure if I love them quite like I love Kate's, but I'm on my way to a more reasonable option. There aren't too many options for serving-ware that I like so I might just stick with plain white for those. Or I may just scrap the whole black and white thing and go for all white. THEN I could just buy different table cloths to dress them up!

Great Find!!

I signed up to be a member with Michaels and received a 50% off coupon for one item. My coupon is good for until mid-April and I can just keep re-printing them. I got one invitation kit today regularly priced $39.00. I got it for $20.00!! I can't believe it! I'm going back tomorrow. I'll probably need 3 kits (they each have 30 invites). So that is $60 bucks total for invites!! I can hardly believe it!

I have a different idea for Thank You notes, but I figured I could use these for bridal shower, etc thank yous. They come with Invitations, envelopes, response cards and envelopes, sticker seals, thank you cards and envelopes. I'm very happy with this!! If you are thinking about DIY invites check out Michaels for sure! They have so many more options than they did even this last summer!
